The Broken Rose
I took this photo a couple of days after my paternal grandfathers funeral. I was unable to make it to either his or my maternal grandmother's (who had passed away a couple of days later in the same town) funerals. Instead, the day of my grandmother's funeral, I bought two roses, one for each of them, and spent some time at the beach before releasing the roses into the water. The broken seashells that this rose lays upon remind me of how I was feeling that day. This photograph is my tribute to my grandfather, may he rest in peace.
