International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

Since the year 2000, November 25th has been designated as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. These photographs were taken at an Amnesty International installation in Bologna, Italy. Wooden chairs were arranged in a spiral. On each chair was an article of red clothing and the name and age of a victim of gender based violence in Italy this year.

A portion of each sale of these images will be donated to Amensty International. For more information, have a look at their 16 days of action against gender violence campaign; which begins on November 25th and ends on December 10 (Human Rights Day).
